One for Me, One for Her, None for You...

When I woke up early this morning, I noticed as I opened the refrigerator that Mama recently bought two slices of special brazo de mercedes cake.  I didn't touch them of course, without her permission.  I probably wasn't entitled to it anyway and I was right...

When afternoon came, she called my sister for "merienda" (snack) and mentioned, "May brazo de mercedes ako dito." (I have brazo de mercedes here).  She didn't bother to call me in my room.

Geez, why do I put up with this cruel treatment?  I wonder why my mom is rude.  Mama probably loved my sister more because she is helping out in the family business, while I didn't because I have a different line of interest.  When I become a parent, I swear... I will treat my children equally.  No favoritism.  I would love them just because of the fact they are my kids and not because I have use for them.  Maybe that's why I am subjected to such treatment for me to realize this painful lesson, as well develop in me values such as patience and forgiveness.  God, please help me...
